Chemistry and Physics
Course work in the physical sciences is an important component of a liberal arts education. In
addition, students planning a career in a science-related field will have a concentration of courses in
this area. The Department of Chemistry and Physics offers majors in biochemistry, chemistry, and
physics, and minors in chemistry and physics. For students interested in teaching science in the
public schools, the department offers a complementary major called TeachScience. For more information,
contact the department chair.
The Chemistry Department also advises and supervises programs that provide preparation for a variety of health and science vocations. Most of these pre-professional health programs require completion of 2-4 years at Anderson University followed by graduate and/or clinical training at another institution. Dr. Carr advises for these programs in the chemistry department and should be contacted for further information.
