Rich Wells
Vice President of Research and Development, Thermo-Set Systems
Bachelor of Arts, Chemistry major
My years at Anderson University were truly fruitful and dynamic. While my colleagues can only relate to 500-seat lecture halls and remote professors, I recall hours of personal time with my professors touching on spiritual, educational and career topics. I would argue that the AU student-faculty relationship is far beyond the scope of any other university. Of course, the faculty have zeal for knowledge and teaching, but their academic fervor does not overshadow their love for their students and earnest desire to do the work of the Lord. For researchers in the sciences, an extensive scientific background and critical thinking skills are required, while inadequate training is exposed. As I look back on my career I must ask, “Did my program adequately prepare me for my field?” As the Vice President of Research and Development for an emerging adhesives company, I can securely say, “I was prepared.”
