Description of the program
The Department of Communication and Theatre Arts provides exceptional preparation for careers in print and broadcast media, video and audio production, digital cinema, public relations, and theatre arts. Our commercial ventures offer opportunities seldom seen at the college level. Graduates have remarked that their employers were impressed with their knowledge and ability to jump right into the job.

Communication and Theatre alumni have gone on to a number of leadership positions in the media industries. Recent graduates have reported for newspapers and electronic media, edited magazines, and taken public relations positions in health care, politics, business, advocacy organizations, and non-profits. Similarly, due to our hands-on broadcast program, students graduate with a comprehensive portfolio in video and radio, giving them a significant advantage when applying for positions in a radio, television or production company. Theatre studies alumni have gone on to a variety of graduate schools (including New York University, University of Florida, and Regent University) or have gone on to professional employment at such theatres as the Lilly Children's Theatre and Disney Studios.
