Description of the programAnderson University provides an outstanding education for students preparing for a career in mathematics. The Department of Mathematics is committed to providing a quality education integrated with caring and personal attention within the framework of a Christian liberal arts environment. Students are mathematically trained for positions in education, business, government, and industry. Furthermore, students are prepared for graduate study in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, and other disciplines that are mathematically based. |

Departmental facilities include four faculty offices, a mathematics seminar room, and a teaching computer laboratory shared with the Department of Computer Science. Office and laboratories are equipped with Windows-based microcomputers and communication links to the college computing network, a local Microsoft 2000 Network, and the internet. The library has been developed to include the materials that are recommended by the Mathematical Association of America. Microcomputers in the laboratory are equipped with Maple® and Matlab® mathematics software packages for student and instructional use.
