Anderson University Chorale
|
Founded during the 1945-46 school year, the Anderson University Chorale began what has become a rich tradition of choral singing with national and international recognition. Each Christmas the Chorale and other Anderson University School of Music ensembles present the Emmy award-winning Candles and Carols program, which is broadcast throughout the United States and on two global networks. The Chorale has visited every geographic region of the United States during spring tours, performing in a number of prestigious concert venues including Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, the Riverside Church, and St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City, the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA, and the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Since 1986, the Chorale has completed seven European tours, performing in Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Russia. The Chorale was chosen to perform in concert for two divisional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and was chosen to perform in concert for the National ACDA convention in Phoenix, Ariz. The AU Chorale opened the 2004 ACDA Central Division Convention in Indianapolis and was honored by being selected to perform the world premiere of a new work commissioned by ACDA at that convention. |
