Joy Weller is an Assistant Professor in the BSN pre-licensure program. Joy been a nurse educator for 12 years and has taught Mental Health, Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing, Nursing Leadership and Management, Pharmacology, and Family Health Nursing. Other experience includes Oncology and Public Health. As the nurse administrator at a county health department, Joy procured grant funding to expand services, hire additional nursing staff, and revitalize the immunization program. Under her leadership, the county achieved the highest immunization rate in the state.
Joy received her BS in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and her MSN in Nursing Education from Fort Hays State University. She also attended the Public Health Leadership Institute at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Joy is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has served on multiples boards and advisory committees, the most recent being the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association.
Joy and her husband Ron have four sons, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson she adores! Outside of nursing, Joy loves music and has traveled professionally with groups all across the country and Europe. Her life verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
