Transfer Students

So, you're thinking of transferring?

Whether you're coming from a community college, leaving a big state university, or trying another small, private school, transferring to Anderson University is a great choice. In fact, we attract more than 100 transfer students each year. Why? AU is a small, faith-based, liberal arts university, that offers you small classes with direct attention from professors, a diverse number of majors and lots of ways for you to be involved. At AU, we believe in academic excellence and Christian experience. But we also believe in the freedom to be exactly who you want to be -- freedom to be yourself and believe what you want without pressure to fit a certain mold.

What can I do now?

1. APPLY -- Don't wait! Send in the application, two reference forms, and all relevant, official high school and college transcripts. Arrange for your final college transcript (for the current semester or quarter) to be sent to the Admissions Office as soon as it becomes available. You can even apply online.

2. Raise or maintain your GPA at your present school. This will help your financial aid status later.

3. Take classes now that will satisfy Anderson University requirements. The university catalog has information regarding both the Liberal Arts Curriculum as well as every academic major. With the Anderson University Academic Catalog , you can refer to it to locate courses that are similar to those offered at your current school. If you are still unclear as to which courses to take before transferring to AU, then e-mail a full list of your completed or in-progress courses to Audrey Weiger, Transfer Counselor.

4. Keep a copy of your previous and current course catalogs and class syllabi of college courses taken. This will help you later if there is a question about a class, or if Anderson University needs a course description while we evaluate your transcript.

For more in-depth or specific information, Transfer Students Under 25 should contact Audrey Weiger, Transfer Counselor at the Office of Admissions, 1-800-428-6414.
