The ADVANCE program recognizes that college-level learning can take place outside of the traditional college classroom. Students may use the vehicle of the Portfolio or some Non Portfolio options to earn credit hours that fulfill graduation requirements. Students may also complete additional coursework at Anderson University or other regionally accredited colleges and universities.
Students may not exceed a total of 30 hours in the following Portfolio/Non Portfolio options. The number in brackets indicates the maximum number of hours a student may earn from that specific option.
Portfolio Options:
- Life Learning Papers (LLPs) and/or Professional Schools and Training Worksheets (PSTs)[12 hours]
Non Portfolio Options:
- Military
- CLEP testing
- American Council on Education Credit (ACE)/PONSI
Some guidelines for credit for prior learning:
Credit will only be awarded for the learning, not for the experience. College-level learning must be measurable. It must also be at a level of achievement defined as college equivalent or consistent with the learning of other adults engaged in college studies. There will be no credit given for learning in which college credit has already been awarded.
