Letter from the Alumni Council President

Dear Friends:

As a teenager growing up in central Illinois, I had never heard of Anderson University. I did not grow up in the Church of God, and so for me, Anderson never popped up on my radar. While I desired an education at a Christian college, I had no idea how to choose between so many. All that changed the day a friend of my family told me about a great Christian college in central Indiana.

I cannot imagine where I would be in my life today if it were not for my years at Anderson University. My time at Anderson helped shape my life and my future in an important way. The years I spent on campus provided me numerous opportunities to travel, explore, and consider God’s direction for my life.

While my career has taken me four hours away from the campus, I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve the AU community through my involvement with the Alumni Council. It is a privilege to be able to participate in the affairs of the university and to stay close to the campus community. Additionally, my participating with the school has provided me the opportunity to recount & sometimes relive those memorable days as a student.

My greatest desire and goal as president of the Alumni Council is to reach out and invite AU alumni to "connect" or "reconnect" to this great place. For you this might begin by simply scheduling a return trip to campus for Homecoming this fall. Perhaps you’ve lost touch with old friends and would like to take advantage of the help our Alumni Office might offer you in locating them. It might mean contributing financially to this growing community. Maybe you would be willing to share your memories and stories with a prospective student. You can make a difference. I’m thankful to the man who did this for me.

Join me and the rest of the Alumni Association by serving Anderson University. We’d love to have you. Not only will you benefit from this, but our students & the university will prosper too. We look forward to welcoming you to the campus this year.
