Dorcas Stegelmann – 2009 Athlete
In an era before women's sports were recognized by Title IX, the NCAA, or NAIA, Stegelmann received just a certificate for her efforts. After graduating in 1962, she coached high school basketball and volleyball and middle school track. She was the athletic director at Goshen for 15 years and was named Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrator of the Year for District II in 1990.
She currently lives in Angola during the summer and in Estero, Fla. during the winter. She has three children and nine grandchildren.
