Don Brandon - Head Coach
Indiana Baseball Hall of Famer Don Brandon will begin his 35th season as head baseball coach at Anderson University in 2007.
Brandon has crafted a cumulative record of 1,005-511-5 during his tenure in the Ravens' dugout. Brandon currently ranks second among active Division III coaches in career wins and is fifth on the all-time list.
Brandon has a sterling reputation for developing players. During his AU coaching career, 32 players have signed professional contracts, and many more have achieved All-American and All-Conference status.
In 2001, Brandon was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame. During Anderson's years as a NAIA institution, Brandon was a nine-time NAIA District 21 Coach of the Year, and a three-time NAIA Area Coach of the Year. He has been named Coach of the Year in the HCAC five times, including 1999 and 2000.
On January 23, 1998, Brandon was inducted into the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. Brandon's 1984 and 1987 squads appeared in the NAIA World Series, and the 1993, 1998 and 2003 teams earned trips to the NCAA Division III Championship. In the 15-year history of the HCAC, he has coached the Ravens to nine regular-season titles.
Brandon is a 1963 graduate of Anderson University, where he played under former Brooklyn Dodgers pitching great and Anderson native Carl Erskine.
After earning an undergraduate degree in mathematics, Brandon received a master's degree in physical education from Ball State in 1967. He was awarded his Ph. D. in physical education for Springfield (Mass.) College in 1976. Brandon and his wife Janet have two children, Leah and Brent. They are also proud grandparents of four grandchildren.
