"Training for Ministry" Facts

  • The School of Theology’s Center for Pastoral Studies has served the Church of God for more than seventeen years. Presently, there are approximately 1,500 persons enrolled in the Center for Pastoral Studies continuing education program.
  • The School of Theology offers continuing education events to the Church of God. For example, the Newell Lectureship in Biblical Studies or Adam Miller Chapel Lectures are offered during the during the annual Convention of the Church of God in Anderson.
  • Anderson School of Theology offers a standard Master of Divinity degree as well as a Master of Divinity with concentrations in Christian Education and Urban Ministry. Also offered are programs leading to a Master of Religious Education, Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, Master of Arts in Historical and Intercultural Studies, and a Doctor of Ministry.
  • The Anderson School of Theology offers unique ministry training programs through a “Mondays Only” program, an “Extended Campus” program and a “Personalized Distance Learning” program. The “Extended Campus” program is geared to students with a Bachelor’s and offers courses at locations around the country designed for pastors who must continue their ministry while furthering their education. The “Mondays Only” program allows students to complete most of the required course work for a master’s degree by coming to campus only one day a week.. The “Personalized Distance Learning” option allows students to enroll in master’s-level courses and take them to their home or place of study. The School of Theology ministry training programs are designed to remove the obstacles of graduate theological education and meet continuing education needs in the life of the church.
