Choosing a Major

Selecting a major is one of the biggest decisions our students make. Anderson University offers many resources for a student to select his major.

Are you wondering what majors are right for you? Follow these steps:

  1. Explore careers and majors that may interest you. Our office contains many books and other reference materials about careers and majors
  2. If you are a Freshman or Sophomore, consider signing up for Career and Life Planning (LART1200) which helps you set your career path. If you are a Junior or Senior, set a one-on-one appointment with a career counselor.
  3. Talk with your mentor or advisor about your plans
  4. Once you decide your major, follow the steps to declare a major listed above.

Have you already decided your major? Here are the steps to take to declare a major:

  1. Make your decision
  2. Make an appointment with your mentor or advisor to discuss your plans
  3. Visit the Registrar's Office to complete the Declaration of Major form
  4. Get registered for classes early
  5. Complete your program!

Set an appointment to learn more. Appointments last 1 hour and will help you get a good start towards learning more about careers and majors.
