Karen advanced to her role as the Executive Director of Development after more than a decade of work in with the Development Office where she had primary assignments with Central Indiana Fellows and Sponsors, and Anderson Area Town and Gown. In her current role she provides leadership for fund-raising initiatives including major gifts, planned gifts, annual fund, stewardship, gift records, grants and research. Karen also provides leadership for advancement's computer technology, database management, and the Advancement Web site. She is an AU graduate and has a master's degree from Indiana University obtained at the IUPUI campus. She came to work for the university following nearly two decades of service in the Madison County community.
Ron Moore

Ron serves as the senior development consultant. Ron's love for AU brought him back to the campus after he retired as senior vice president of AU with a distinguished career of 38 years in areas of Finance, Development, and Advancement. His years of service to the university included managing a balanced institutional budget for 24 consecutive years, orchestrating construction of campus facilities such as Reardon Auditorium, Krannert Fine Arts Center and the Kardatzke Wellness Center to name a few, and directing a record gifting year of $16.6 million for the university in 2001-02.
Donald L. Taylor

Don Taylor began his professional career as Director of Financial Aid with Anderson University in 1973 and rejoined the staff in 2004. In the intervening years he served in pastoral ministry and in management, marketing, and fundraising for local, national, and international ministries. As a member of the Development staff, Don works closely with alumni and friends who provide annual support, endowed scholarships, major gifts, and estate gifts to help students and advance the mission of the Anderson University. Don is a graduate of the AU School of Theology (MDiv 1989).
HL Baker

HL Baker is no stranger to the Anderson University community. HL loves AU so much that he came out of retirement in February 2006 to serve as a development officer. During his 40 years of faithful service at AU, HL served in various positions - the Dean of Students, the Associate Dean of Students and Financial Aid Director. He also scouted for the AU football team for two years and has been a member of the Raven "Chain Gang" for more than 35 years. HL was honored with the AU Distinguished Alumni Award, the Boender Award and was named to the Athletic Hall of Fame.

Karen is well versed in traditional and cutting-edge research techniques. She is also an experienced grant writer. She is the former president of the APRA (Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement) Indiana chapter. She received her M.A. and her B.S. degrees in journalism from Ball State University. Her skills in writing as well as researching development information makes her an invaluable member of the Development staff.

Jennifer is responsible for receipting and recording all gifts made to the university. She also manages the university's employer-matching gifts. Jennifer has been with AU for more than 25 years. She is very knowledgeable about all aspects of gift management and the advancement area's database system.
Elyse Cromer

Elyse came to AU with managerial experience in addition to successfully running her own business for eleven years. She supervises students on the Teletouch Team who make calls to Alumni and friends of the university, soliciting gifts for the Annual Fund. In addition to leading the Teletouch Team, Elyse also works on other initiatives and programs to further the Annual Fund. As an Anderson University alumnus, she is committed to raising funds to help reduce the cost of tuition for current and future AU students.

Pam is the assistant to Development Officers H.L. Baker and Don Taylor . She provides administrative support, assists in donor stewardship relations, oversees the managing of gift files, and coordinates daily office tasks. Pam previously worked as an executive assistant for 18 years working with accreditation and quality improvement in a healthcare setting.

Toni graduated with honors with an Associate of Science in Business degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and brings many years of experience in customer service and event planning to the Development Office.

George Nalywaiko

George, a 1974 AU grad, came here in 2000 and worked as a Development Officer for two years before moving to this position he has currently been serving in for five years. His main responsibilities are to promote and manage the matching church scholarship program. AU has over 1100 churches enrolled with about 400 participating each year. George also represents the university at state and national gatherings of Church of God ministers, and works to develop unique scholarship programs for students coming from our churches nationwide. Before his work at AU he was head of the retail division of Warner Press Publishing for 10 years.
Patty Rogers

Patty is an AU alumnus and has been working in the Advancement Office since December of 1994. Her responsibilities include management of all internal functions related to the Matching Church Scholarship Program and serving as a point of communication with churches and individual constituents needing help with this program. She also supports special event planning related to major donor initiatives and significant church-related program activities. Her newest position as Manager of Stewardship Services also calls for systematic tracking of all endowed funds and related correspondence.

Tom Bruce, a 1971 AU grad, has effectively served Anderson University for 31 years. He has served with three of our four Anderson University presidents. His deep roots in the church, combined with his love and understanding for the university and his gracious ability to view issues from many perspectives make him a very effective communicator and administrator. He comes to us with two graduate degrees - a Master of Science and a Masters of Business. He manages all university areas of public relations, publications, special events, and alumni affairs.

Ben Davis

Ben joined the staff as Director of Alumni Relations in 2008. He is a 1997 AU graduate with a degree in Public Relations and Journalism. In this newly created role he works to implement local, regional and national strategies to engage and connect our base of 26,000 alumni into a cohesive network. Ben is involved with the planning and implementation of alumni events, and serves as staff liaison to the AU Alumni Council. He is also instrumental in collaborating with other areas of university administration such as Admissions and Career Development to find avenues through which AU alumni can serve prospective and current students. Prior to returning to Anderson University, he worked for eight years in non-profit management as an executive director for the YMCA in Dayton, Ohio.

Kim has been with Anderson University since 2000. After graduating in 1999, she worked one year in the social service field. Since returning to AU in 2000, Kim has served as a member of the Alumni Relations staff. She currently provides oversight to alumni and parent programs by coordinating communications, events and new program initiatives. Kim completed her Master of Arts in 2005.

Edward Fry

Ed brings his extensive history with AU to his most recent post as Alumni Connections Coordinator. His efforts concentrate on strategically linking current students, both personally and professionally, with AU alumni from various industries, careers, and geographic locations, as well as providing networking opportunities for alumni to alumni relations for potential mentoring and employment opportunities. A graduate of both AU (BA, ’93) and AU School of Theology (MTS ’05), Ed has served in church and para-ministry roles and as a corporate executive for various firms and returns to his alma mater from a career track that has taken him from his home state of Ohio to Nashville, TN, and Chicago, Ill. Ed’s most recent position was as Vice President of Communications for a Federal Contracting firm in Anderson, IN and as Interim Pastor of University and Young Adults at Park Place Church of God.

Christopher Williams

Chris has been with Anderson University for 12 years. After graduating from college in 1992, he served as director of public relations for a for-profit firm in northern Indiana. Since returning to AU in 1995, Chris has served as its primary public relations officer, working closely with local, state, and national media outlets (TV, radio, and newspaper). Chris assists the Advancement team and the President's office with special event planning and he also serves as the managing director of the AU public Web site. Chris' undergraduate training was in communications and he completed his Master of Business Adminstration degree in 2000.
Stefanie Leiter

Stefanie Leiter graduated from AU in 2005 majoring in Mass Communications with a specialization in public relations. Stefanie has had various experiences in magazine & newspaper writing and served as a student assistant in university relations under Chris Williams for three years before graduating. As Web Content Manager, Stefanie is responsible for managing the AU public website, working with campus clients, managing the campus calendar and the campus Flickr photos, and keeping the content & photos fresh. She joined University Communications in May 2005.

Publications Office

The Publications Office, among other things, is responsible for Signatures magazine, and the development of creative design and written materials for a variety of AU printed material, including magazine, newspaper, and billboard advertisements. Publications staff are frequently called upon to develop effective approaches to various AU communication efforts.

Kerry Shaw

Kerry Shaw was named the director of publications in 2003, after serving as manager and graphic designer for several years. Prior to coming to AU, Kerry was director of communications, design, photography and printing services for a Fortune 500 corporation based in Central Indiana. In addition to his duties as director, Kerry contributes his design, photography and production talents to the many print communications directed to students, alumni and friends of AU. Kerry and the publications staff have been honored with numerous design and communication awards.
Deborah Lilly

Deborah Lilly serves as editor of Signatures magazine. Signatures is produced quarterly for the alumni and friends of Anderson University. This award-winning publication carries news and information about the university, as well as students and alumni across the nation. Prior to coming to her alma mater in 1998, Deborah served as an assistant managing editor for an Indiana community newspaper. A gifted writer, Deborah enjoys keeping both alumni and friends apprised of all the existing occurrences around campus.
Cara Miller

Cara Miller is a 2003 AU graduate and has had various experiences in magazine writing, public relations, and advertising. As senior writer in the Publications Office, Cara writes articles for Signatures magazine, designs print advertisements, produces publications for various departments on campus, and helps update the AU Web site.
Julie Ward

with scheduling and budgeting projects and handling production details. She

Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership in 2004.
