As an AU grad and staff member for almost 20 years, I am committed to challenging myself and others to work toward building a community that embraces diversity. To me that means not simply celebrating differences but being willing to dialogue even when it is difficult, to step out of our comfort zone regularly, to welcome change, and to be courageous enough to try to see through someone else's eyes. AU is a very special place. It is not what is was 20 years ago. It is better, but it is up to us to work hard today to build a better tomorrow. |
