Kathleen Dugan, Assistant Professor of Art & Design

My name is Kathleen Dugan and I am an Assistant Professor within the Department of Art and Design. Being an artist, celebrating difference has been an important part of my personal journey, because it has taught me both artistically and spiritually the beauty of joy and suffering. I see this most notably in my own children who struggle with the disability of autism, a neurological disorder affecting their ability to communicate with others. I chose to be a part of this committee at AU because I believe that all persons must realize that we learn by sharing our strengths/our gifts/our stories with each other but also to value other and difference as opportunities for growth.
