Title: AU campus comes together in prayer
Anderson University along with South Meridian Church of God and Park Place Church of God will host a community prayer service at 7:00 pm this evening at Reardon Auditorium for the community to pray for those lives touched by the tragic events happening across our nation as the result of possible terrorist actions. President James Edwards lead students and the campus community in prayer at Chapel service this morning. At present, on campus classes and campus offices will remain on their normal schedule. President Edwards emphasized that the well-being of students comes first and the university will continue to monitor events.
There will be no Anderson University MBA classes tonight at Lawrence Central High School. Lawrence Central High School has canceled all evening activities. In addition, the ADVANCE cohort group, scheduled to meet at the McKenzie Center in Lawrence, has been relocated to "The Gathering Place" located at the Church at the Crossing in Indianapolis.
All other university operations are continuing on a normal schedule at this time.
The campus is also organizing prayer gatherings to take place in various locations on campus this evening for students.
"The university is learning, reacting and praying along with others across the nation on a minute by minute basis," said President Edwards. "We will take the appropriate actions to protect the well being of our students and campus community."
