For the first time ever, Anderson University broadcast athletic events over the Internet as 20 Raven baseball games aired live during the 2004 spring season. Anderson University alumnus Dave Edwards made the play-by-play announcements during each contest. The first Internet broadcast was on Mar. 18 against Goshen at Raven Park. The broadcast schedule included 15 home dates, as well as four road contests, and the game at Victory Field in Indianapolis against Goshen.

“I am pleased that the university has partnered with Yahoo to offer an Internet broadcast package of selected baseball games," said Michael Zapolski, director of Anderson University Athletics. “Internet streaming of sporting events is a cost-effective way to reach a large target audience. It is my hope that we can expand the coverage to additional sports during the 2004-05 school year.”

The Ravens finished 35-16 last year, including a third-place finish at the NCAA Div. III World Series in Appleton, Wisc. AU returned three of its top four pitchers and 12 lettermen from last season.

Head coach Don Brandon (973-468-5) needs 27 victories to reach the 1,000 mark and ranks fourth in the NCAA in active wins. Brandon has guided the Ravens to 25 20-win seasons, 13 conference titles, and seven World Series appearances. Brandon has won 14 Coach of the Year awards.
