Campus joins 2004 Convention

Anderson University is preparing once again to provide assistance to the North American Convention of the Church of God, June 25-30, organized by Church of God Ministries. Under the theme "Worship the Lord," the convention offers a full slate of activities and events. Several activities sponsored by the university are among the many selections offered during the convention.

Friday, June 25 Anderson University presents "God in Us.” This music celebration will be hosted by Dr. James L. Edwards, president of Anderson University, and feature Sandi Patty, Don Moen, Marc Clarke, Jay and Amy Rouse, Marc Clarke, and Brian McSee just to name a few. This special event will take place at 7 p.m. in Warner Auditorium.

Saturday, June 26 AU Press will host a very special book signing and reception at 10 a.m. in the lobby of Reardon Auditorium. The event is in honor of a new biography written by Anderson University president emeritus, Dr. Robert Reardon. The book is entitled, “Staying on Course.” Dr. James L. Edwards, president of Anderson University, will bring remarks during this very special event.

Sunday, June 27 The 2003 AU Heritage Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. in Schield dining room, Olt Student Center. To make reservations for the dinner please call 765-641-4068.

Monday, June 28 The Anderson University Class of 1954 will gather for a reunion reception in Kane Dining room in the Olt Student Center. This reception, gathering at 2 p.m., will provide classmates an opportunity to mingle and interact with persons from the university. The event is open to any alum who has experienced a golden anniversary at AU.

School of Theology Alumni Awards Ceremony. Alumni from the School of Theology will be honored in Miller Chapel in Miller Chapel. A come-and-go dinner will be offered from 4-6 p.m. in Olt Student Center, Shield dining room, with an awards program beginning at 6 p.m. Please call 641-4030 for more information.

Conferences/Meetings/Activities ANDERSON UNIVERSITY ALUMNI AND FRIENDS 30TH ANNUAL GOLF OUTING will be held Friday, June 25 at Yule Golf Course in Alexandria, Indiana. A continental breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m. and tee off is at 7:30 a.m. Contact the AU Office of Alumni Relations at 765-641-4100 for more information.

WARNER SALLMAN RELIGIOUS ART COLLECTION. The original religious art collection of Warner Sallman owned by Anderson University will be displayed and available to the Church of God Convention. Convention attendees can view the collection between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Sunday hours are 12 noon to 4 p.m.) in the Krannert Fine Arts Center.

ANDERSON HOSPITALITY ROOM. Alumni and other friends of the university can stop by the AU Hospitality Room located in the Krannert Fine Arts Center. Monday, June 28 through Wednesday, June 30 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

GUSTAV JEENINGA MUSEUM OF BIBLE AND NEAR EASTERN STUDIES. The Museum will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lower level of the School of Theology building.

ANDERSON UNIVERSITY OBSERVATORY. The AU observatory will be open Monday, June 28 through Wednesday, June 30, at 9 p.m. (weather permitting). Use northeast corner stairway in the Decker Hall breezeway to access the observatory.

GUIDED CAMPUS TOURS. Tours of the Anderson University campus will be available Monday, June 28, through Wednesday, June 30, at 3:15 p.m. Interested persons should meet at the AU Hospitality Room in the Krannert Fine Arts Center, room 170.
