Why do you choose to teach/work at Anderson University?
This is my alma mater. I feel honored and privileged to be able to give back to a place that has had such an important impact on my life and as a way to say "thank you" to the people and the Church of God that has meant so much to my development. Also, my faculty and staff colleagues are my friends. We work hard and well together. The focus on being "salt and light" for Christ as we teach business in this setting is absolutely crucial to me.

What is something that you have been part of at AU that brings you joy?
I love to be witness to what happens over the four years that undergraduate students are with us. I love to watch their progression from freshman to seniors and to see how they literally grow up before our eyes. I get to see this in the classroom but also in my work with our athletes as the faculty athletic representative. I also feel this same sense of joy when I witness one of our doctoral students successfully defend their dissertation. It is the culmination of a lot of hard work for them over four or five years of study. Besides, we eat cake at these celebrations and who wouldn't like that?

What do you like to do for fun?
I love to sing. It's part of my family heritage. I've been a part of church choirs since I was 12 years old. I love to take summer trips on my motorcycle with a couple of riding buddies who also are faculty members at AU. We've ridden the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. I like to try to play golf with my foursome on Wednesday afternoons in the summer. I like being the starter at collegiate track meets. This lets me think that the athlete in me is not completely dead. Mostly, I just like to have rich conversation with family and friends. I think this often occurs best when a campfire is involved!

What is one thing that makes you unique?
Tough question. I'm really just a basic person. Maybe that I've sung in everything from rock 'n roll bands to barbershop quartets. Maybe it's my ability to remember tons of song lyrics and artists when we play music trivia. Or could it be that my favorite meal involves venison?
