I must confess that I lack a complete understanding of what it means to be a Christian. For the longest time, I thought it involved believing in a particular religious individual, but I am routinely reminded that I am missing something by adhering just to that limited definition.
For many Anderson University students, the best way to figure out which career they want to pursue is to complete an internship. An internship allows a college student to take a step out of the classroom and into the real world, getting hands-on experience of what is being taught in the classroom and putting it into practice.
Anderson University alumna Beth Tharp AS '80, MBA '05 was named president and CEO of Community Hospital Anderson on Tuesday.
Tharp has worked at the hospital since 1980, when she was hired as a staff nurse. She has served as vice president of Patient Care Services over the past 13 years.
She was selected after a nationwide search, and will take on her new role later this year.
“I’m thrilled about the appointment, I’ve been a part of Community my entire life and career,” Tharp said.
I always find it interesting when things — particularly those related to business — come full circle. I will illustrate with two examples — a national one first, and then a local one.
