Anderson University (Anderson, Ind. ) earned a place in the top tier among Regional Universities - Midwest in the 2011 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News and World Report. The exclusive rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, are available today online, and will also be published in the September issue of U.S.
Debbi Brock, assistant professor of entrepreneurship & business, started her career at the Falls School of Business at Anderson University in the fall of 2009. During her first semester, Brock taught a class called Principles of Marketing: A Theatre of Metamorphosis in a new refreshing way. Upon completing her undergraduate work, she worked for the Collegiate Association for Social Entrepreneurship. This is where she found her passion for helping young people start businesses.
Thirteen students representing nine area high schools recently discovered their passion for creating businesses at the Anderson University Summer Entrepreneurship Camp. Now in its second year, the camp allowed students to visit a number of entrepreneurs in the Anderson community and also compete in business-based contests. The campers not only received a first-hand lesson in starting a business, but also cash prizes for participating in the various challenges.
When most people think of tea, they think of old ladies, tea parties or England. As for senior Falls School of Business student Chris Bourgea, creating his own tea franchise comes to his mind, with a passion to break the Americanized perception of tea. After conducting a lot of research he started his own tea company called BourgeaTEA.
