SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

  • Master of Divinity

    The purpose of the Master of Divinity degree is the spiritual and intellectual formation of people in the Christian ministry of biblical reconciliation in church and society. The M.Div. degree is the basic ministerial leadership degree for those preparing for ordained ministry. This degree provides a broad preparation with a solid core in Bible, church history, theology, mission, and pastoral ministry.

  • Master of Theological Studies

    The Master of Theological Studies degree is offered in two tracks:

    • Thesis Track for students preparing to enter Ph.D. or Th.D. programs.
    • Non-Thesis Track for other students.

    The Master of Theological Studies degree does not provide adequate preparation for pastoral ministry. Students who are preparing for ordained ministry are encouraged to enroll in the Master of Divinity degree program.

  • Online Master of Theological Studies

    The Online Master of Arts in Christian Ministries is a 45-hour degree offered primarily via the Internet, and you can do most of your course work on your own schedule. There is a five-day on-campus component of each course, requiring ten hours of face-to-face interaction with your professor and other members of your class. You must attend all ten hours of the on-campus component for each course -- if you miss even one hour of the on-campus component you will not pass the course.

  • Master of Arts in Intercultural Service

    The Master of Arts in Intercultural Service is a 48-semester-hour degree program (a total of 16 courses) of graduate study designed to prepare individuals to serve the church in specific fields of mission and outreach.

    The degree is designed for those desiring to engage in intercultural ministries, in the more traditional missionary sense, either in the United States or overseas, with concerns both for urban and rural contexts.

  • Doctor of Ministry

    The Doctor of Ministry program is a 32-hour program and includes a professional project that integrates ministerial context and biblical studies, theology, church history. All the research, course work, interaction and reflection are to increase the effectiveness and competence in ministry in the setting where pastors serve.

  • Master of Business Administration

    Professional Program
    Designed for the working professional, this program is fully accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is offered in Anderson and at locations in Indianapolis. Students are part of a cohort that normally meets one night a week. The program can be completed in less than two years.

    Residential Program
    Designed for individuals who desire graduate-level studies in a Christian environment immediately following completion of their undergraduate program. The program is experiential in nature, utilizes an intense living-learning approach, and can be completed in 11 months.

  • Doctor of Business Administration

    The Anderson University Doctorate of Business Administration is designed for the unique needs of a group of business instructors not effectively served by current doctoral programs. The Anderson University DBA is a program that will link the applied nature of an MBA with the conceptual framework and research traditions that support business practice. The DBA program offers the unique advantage of high-level thinking and discussion about the integration of a Christian world view with learning.

  • Graduate Studies in Education

    The Graduate Studies in Education program at Anderson University is designed for the working educator. Our programs and course work are relevant, practical and engaging.

    We respect the individual’s busy family and work schedule and design our course terms to meet the needs of today’s educator. We are service-oriented and are diligent in helping our graduate students reach their professional and personal education goals. We keep the costs down by having some of the lowest tuition rates among all universities in the area, without excessive fees; we keep textbook costs to a minimum and convenient parking that can be accessed at no charge. We also offer classes in easily accessible locations.

    There are a variety of areas to choose from at Anderson University. These include Curriculum & Instruction and School Leadership & Administration. Special areas of study, such as English as a New Language (ENL) and Character Education are options at Anderson University as well. And we have license renewal classes in Special Education and plan to launch a master’s degree and certification program in Special Education in the summer of 2009.

  • Master of Science in Nursing - Master of Business Administration

    The MSN-MBA program at Anderson University is a dual-degree program offered by the School of Nursing and the Falls School of Business. The program is intended to give working nursing professionals (those with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana or eligibility for licensure) the tools needed to be an effective administrator of human, financial, and health care resources.

    Classes meet one night per week and the MSN-MBA program can be completed in as little as 33 months. Graduates will have the administrative and business knowledge to effectively manage resources to benefit healthcare organizations.

  • Master of Music Education

    Under the guidance of accomplished faculty members, students in the Anderson University School of Music enjoy a rich diversity of academic and musical experiences. The 32-hour Master of Music Education program consists of 20 hours of required core courses and 12 hours of elective courses in choral, instrumental, or general music.
