Staff employees working at least 20 hours per week, or 50% of full-time, in a benefit-eligible position receive paid time off under the university’s earned time off plan. Time off is earned and credited to employee earned-time account each month.
Staff employees not eligible for earned time due to the nature of their work (i.e., resident directors and academic support staff) receive sick-leave hours credited to a sick leave reserve at the end of each calendar year. Sick-leave accrual is the equivalent of one month per year of sick leave, prorated based on full-time equivalency.
