Anderson University Dining Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Grill Cook. Responsibilities include assisting with the service and preparing all hot and cold items for one of our retail venues. Along with maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary work area, and recording all production information on food logs.

| Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one to two years in scratch food service prep and / or the completion of a culinary program and internship. Experience in fast food, short order, pizza or large volume scratch food prep industry preferred. Sanitation certification is also preferred. Must be a team player and display a willingness to accomplish any task to assure success. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees, dining room staff, and guests. General understanding of food preparation techniques (baking, roasting, sautéing), knowledge of proper food handling techniques and food safety, with ability to safely use cooking utensils. Must be able to read and follow written instructions. Must be able to stand and exert well paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length. Must be able to write legibly and complete basic math equations. Must be able to operate and be familiar with griddles, fryers and other kitchen equipment. Candidates must be able to work in a fast paced environment while still demonstrating superb customer service skills. Work schedule may vary, weekend hours are required. |
