| Responsibilities : |
The Athletic Training Program at Anderson University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2012 to serve as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited undergraduate athletic training program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing 12 semester hours of didactic and clinical instruction per semester; oversight of clinical education assignment of student clinical educational opportunities; reviewing clinical sites, instructors; clinical instructor training and mentorship; student clinical education progress on and off campus; student academic advising; recruiting potential ATEP candidates; participation on appropriate departmental and university committees; professional development; scholarship; oversight of the day-to-day operation of clinical education and appropriate supervision of the students; documentation and tracking of clinical education including clinical integration proficiencies; and a willingness to support the Athletic Training Program’s philosophy and goals. |
| Qualifications: |
Applicants are required to hold an earned master's degree in Athletic Training or related field from a regionally accredited college or university, doctoral degree preferred. The candidate must have three years of classroom or approved clinical instructor teaching experience in an ATEP program and a minimum of three years prior employment providing athletic training services. Current license as an athletic trainer in Indiana or ability to obtain licensure is required. The ideal candidate would have CPR/AED instructor certification, involvement in professional organizations, didactic and clinical teaching experience; athletic training related research as well as Clinical Instructor Educator certification. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching by assisting the Athletic Training Education Program Director with the oversight of the clinical education requirements for our CAATE accredited undergraduate program. Minimum qualification include a minimum of three years’ experience as a BOC-certified, Indiana licensure (or eligible). Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field. |
