Job Title: Student Business Manager or Student Project Manager

Description: 0-15 hours per week. All SRC positions are considered primarily on academic experience. The Student Business Manager will learn customer service skills, project timeline creation, project organization, and resource tracking. SRC generally hires students to complete project work; as project needs vary, so will employment. Student will provide business management support, such as timelines, resource allocation, meeting organization, and client communication. In addition, student will be required to aid in meeting project deadlines. An important aspect of this position is effectively communicating in writing and verbally with various clients and the rest of the SRC team concerning problems encountered, while adapting to changes in the timeline. Some experience with project management is preferred. Qualifications: Ideally, the applicant will be a junior pursuing a business degree with a computer complementary major or minor. Completion of, or enrollment in, relevant business and/or computer classes is also preferred. Interested sophomores will be considered. GPA: 3.0 acceptable, 3.5 preferred.

Job Title: Student Lead Analyst

Description: Student will gain valuable experience leading a team through software development in a database environment Gain valuable teaching experience in a small group setting. Work closely with the faculty supervisor and project client. Prepare and present status reports, address the most difficult technical issues, and serve as the system architect. Serve as a role model to the team both during and outside of work hours. Represent the project to individuals and groups both within and outside of the university thorough discussing and presentations. Complete appropriate analysis and design to support training and assignments such that the project proceeds toward completion. Establish, with client and faculty supervisor, a viable project plan. Maintain project plan to completion. Qualifications: Students should have completed Software Engineering (CPSC 4430) and significant internship work. Student should have demonstrated problem solving skills in 1) interpersonal communication, 2) teamwork, 3) software development and 4) software configuration. Student must be able to work effectively with faculty and staff. Students enroll in academic credit such as CPSC 4800. Preferred Soph., Jr. or Sr. class member with a GPA of 3.5. Prefer GPA of 3.7 Subsequently, employment and graduate school references will be available.

Job Title: Student Senior Software Tester

Description: 5 – 10 hours per week. All SRC positions are considered primarily an academic experience. Student Senior Software Testers will implement comprehensive testing methods and quality control practices. SRC generally hires students to complete project work. As project needs vary, so will employment. Students will provide total system testing, work with programmers to identify errors, recommend improvements, and provide support as necessary. On large projects Senior Software Testers will manage and organize other testers to provide timely and accurate results. An important aspect is effectively communicating and documenting software problems. Qualifications: Ideally applicants will pursue a computer complementary major or minor and have completed or be enrolled in an appropriate class such as: CPSC 4430. GPA 3.0 acceptable, 3.5 preferred.
