Warmest Greetings and Welcome!
We are so pleased that you have come to the Anderson University campus to engage in all the benefits of this important gathering. Anderson University is a place of Academic and Christian Discovery and your very presence is a blessing to each of us. It will be our delight to find ways both to know you and to bring some richness to your time with us. We pray that your visit with many others who share your faith and some of our dreams will be the highlight and blessing of this promising school year.
Some months ago I had the privilege of welcoming to my office Dr. Venessa A. Brown who presides over the National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference and who gives guidance to this exciting program. She encouraged me to know that the powerful experiences shared by our students each year when they visit other campuses for this annual gathering would be the expectation and plan for your time here at Anderson University. I was eager to let her know that we are just as committed to making this a life-changing weekend and that we would count it a blessing to be involved in this wonderful opportunity.
I can assure you that we have planned long and well for these days and we eagerly await all we will learn together as we enter into the rich meaning of your theme, "Only Agape Can Lead to Shalom." You will get to know from the leadership of D. Wesley Poythress and many others on our staff that they are eager to extend sincere hospitality.
For all of us who call Anderson University home, welcome. We are delighted and honored that you are here and it is our prayer that you will be blessed by all that is done across these days to bring praise to our Father to whom we dedicate this time together.
Sincerely,
James L. Edwards
President
We are delighted to have you here at Anderson University as part of the 2007 National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference (NCMSLC).
The NCMSLC Board of Directors has worked with many of your institutions to ensure that multicultural issues are addressed and made a priority for ALL students in Christian higher education. More importantly, the conference seeks to provide a place for students of color to come and share leadership strategies for building community among ALL students. On behalf of the NCMSLC Board of Directors we want to take this opportunity to thank you and welcome you to the conference. Our prayer is that you will join with each other in embracing the theme, "Only Agape can lead to Shalom."This is a time for you to build new relationships, mend old ones, examine your heart, embrace God's justice, and develop your own models for change on your respective campuses. You are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the conference, including the conference evaluation. Your participation and comments are greatly appreciated and valued as the Board strives to provide a conference that supports and challenges individuals and institutional commitment. Our goals are to support student leaders in creating a multicultural environment on their perspective campuses and maintain a Christian community that works together as members of God's diverse kingdom.
Again, welcome, and may this conference be a blessing to you and enrich your life. We hope you leave the conference a "changed" person with energy and excitement to promote change in your campus environment.
Many thanks to President James Edwards for his commitment to ALL of God’s people and for his vision to create a campus where ALL people can come and learn, worship and feel the presence of our LORD, to Brent A. Baker and the University Administrators for embracing this effort and allowing all of the staff hours to prepare for such a conference. Last but not least to D. Wesley Poythress for his vision to see NCMSLC come to Anderson University and to the planning committee for making it all happen.
Always with hope,
Dr. Venessa A. Brown
President NCMSLC, Inc.

Greetings and Welcome to Anderson University, the official 2007 host site for the National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference.
It is with great pleasure and humility, as well as the eternal grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that I welcome you to our campus. The AU NCMSLC Committees, which are comprised of faculty, staff and students from nearly every sector of our campus, have been diligently planning for your visit with great anticipation, optimism, praise and guidance from above. Our goal is to provide you with a conference experience that will prepare you for, and support you through, the many challenges you face on a daily basis on your campuses, as multicultural Christian student leaders and advisors. For the record, we are elated to be hosting the conference for the second time. This is the ten year anniversary of our hosting NCMSLC, so we want to make sure that this will be a conference you will never forget. The theme for this year’s conference is "Only AGAPE can lead to SHALOM." The theme presents this philosophical statement, because our surroundings appear to be comprised of less love and peace. So, please come prepared to be engaged, challenged and embraced, because we all are on the same or similar journey.
In closing, I wish to state that we are deeply grateful to Dr. Venessa Brown and the entire NCMSLC Board of Directors for selecting our institution, as well as their guidance and support throughout this process. I would be remiss if I did not mention the complete support I have received from President James Edwards and my colleagues. Preparing for this conference reminded me of the opening kick-off in last year’s Super Bowl. Things did not look good for the Colts in the beginning, but they stuck to what they believed in and came out victorious.
Once again, Welcome! We pray that your experience at NCMSLC 2007, will be one that you will remember forever. Many blessings!
Always with hope,
D. Wesley Poythress, M.A.
Host Site Director and Director of Multicultural Student Services
