Global Education
Global education is an important component of both the BSN and MSN programs, with a required intercultural experience in the curricula. Students have the opportunity to travel, at a reduced rate, to far away places providing nursing care to the citizens of that community. Students have traveled to places such as:
- India-Mother Theresa’s Home of the Dying and Destitute
- Heart to Honduras
- Holt Children's Services-South Korea
- Russia-School of Nursing
- Hooverwood Hebrew Center- Indianapolis

2010 China Trip
The trip will begin in Beijing, the capital city of China and end in Shanghai, the business capital of China, spending 2-3 days in each city. In theses cities, we will visit typical tourist sites such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, Pu Dong and Pu Shi areas of Shanghai, including the market areas where people buy and sell goods. The bulk of our time, however, will be spent in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, where we will split our time between two schools of nursing (Zhejiang University City College and Zhejiang Chinese Medical University). We will visit with student nurses and faculty, learning about how nursing is taught in China. We also will visit hospitals and clinics, observing how nursing is practiced in China. The cost of the trip will be approximately $3,000-3,200.
