Dr. James Edwards, president of Anderson University, will lead new students and their parents in this traditional service. He will challenge new students to take charge of their own futures as they enter into the collegiate experience at AU.

Meet with other parents and students to enjoy punch and cookies.

Gather to meet other parents and talk with representatives from various areas of campus while you enjoy pastries, fruit, juice, and coffee.

8:00 a.m.Worship and Devotions
Join in a time of worship through music, prayer, devotions, and contemplation of the beginning of a new journey for parents of new students.

8:45 a.m.Q & A with President’s Leadership Team
Meet with the administrators and ask questions about the mission and modes of operation of AU.
9:45 a.m.Coffee Break in Hospitality Room
Join AU representatives and other parents for coffee, tea, or water.

10:15 a.m.Parent’s Panel & College Life, 101, “What’s Really Going On?”
A panel of parents of AU students will discuss their experiences and answer questions about parenting college-aged sons and daughters.

11:15 a.m.Introduction of Parent Club
11:30 a.m.Meet with the Resident Directors and Off Campus/Commuter Adviser
Meet in small groups with the director of the residence hall or the commuter advisor with whom your son and/or daughter will be spending much of his/her time.

New student orientation has a break from 1:30-5:00 p.m. for you to say goodbye to your student.

*We will provide you with a box lunch this year. If you are able to join us it would be helpful to let us know how many are in your party. Your student will be eating in the cafeteria. Please e-mail Dean Branson and let him know how many you will need.
