Did you know that your Anderson University student is like a Lego piece? Both come with just so many “nubs” to hook onto. There is power and synergy in connecting the pieces together and when they do - life begins to take shape.
Until your student finds a way to connect their life with someone else – they can experience aloneness. As a parent that can be very painful. Encourage them to explore other Lego nubs to hook up with! Inquire about their relationship with their new roommate(s). Suggest they keep in touch with their Resident Advisor. Ask if they have checked out Campus Ministries. Find out what events are happening on the weekends. There is always something going on! Each one of these “nubs” is an opportunity for them to find a relationship.
We are all God-designed for relationships. Once your student begins to “connect” relationally, they will find purpose and significance. Once they find significance and purpose, they find confidence and peace – even in the busyness of campus life! And once they find peace – so do you!
