New Outstanding Young Alumni Award
The Anderson University Alumni Association is recognizing the younger generation with its new Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
The award focuses on alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years. “Somehow the word ‘alum’ has taken on an ‘aged’ distinction, and we want to acknowledge the achievements and contributions that are being made by those individuals who have attended AU in the relatively recent past,” explains Joyce Winner, president of the AU Alumni Association. While many younger alumni are busy starting their careers and families, they are also making important contributions in their communities, churches and professions.
“We are excited about this new award and look forward to our first recipient at Homecoming 2003,” Winner adds.
To be considered for the award, the nominee must be an alumnus of AU with a minimum of 24 semester hours and must have attended AU within the past 10 years. The committee will consider how the alumnus has distinguished himself/herself through professional and/or personal achievement and how he/she has demonstrated continued interest and/or contact with Anderson University, exemplified Christian principles, served as an outstanding peer leader in their profession or community, demonstrated promises of further distinction and challenged or inspired others.
Nominations may be sent to the AU Alumni Association, c/o Alumni Office, 1100 E. Fifth St., Anderson, IN 46012.
