Promoting the AU experience
By Paul Mumaw BA '97
I don’t care much for brussels sprouts. They don’t do anything for me. I would have a hard time selling them. It’s hard to sell something that you don’t believe in.
I’m a firm believer in Anderson University. As an AU alumnus, I treasure my days and experiences at AU. From the friendships I made, the professors who befriended me, and the lessons I learned, my years at AU stand out as several of the best in my life. I have no problem selling AU. I’m a firm believer in the product.
As alumni, we have the awesome privilege of sharing our life-changing experiences with those we meet. I know that I enjoy sharing my stories and memories with high school students and their parents. In my mind, I want high school students to consider AU. I believe in it.
Who do you know? Who can you refer? As alumni, we can contribute to the future of AU by referring those we know to this great learning environment. Consider inviting a current high school student to join you on your next visit to AU. Organize a trip to the campus with your church youth group. Refer the names of potential students to the AU alumni office by phone or through the Web site. Most importantly, tell your stories, share your memories, and make sure that those young people in your life keep AU at the top of their college list. ––Paul Mumaw BA ’97
