Lillian (Kitchen) Black lives in Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park, Fla. “It is a beautiful retirement community by the Suwannee River,” she writes.

Susan (Robinson) Howell BA and her husband settled in Cincinnati in 2007 after 31 years in New Orleans and being displaced by Katrina. “We are both retired and trying to start a new life. Happily, our son, Matthew, is graduating from college in May,” Susan writes.

Lydia (Bradley) Dorcas Perkins says hi to everyone and would like to get e-mails from fellow students and friends from the 1970s at shrimp.2@netzero.com. She writes, “On Sept. 30, 2008, I lost my father to brain cancer after he found out he had a brain tumor on Sept. 2. I spent the whole month with him. He went peacefully, and I know we will have a reunion someday. See you all in June at campmeeting.”

Pam Hartman graduated in December from Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Mich. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management.

Dean Anderson BA, Judy (Williams) Anderson AA ’79, BA ’80, and their daughter, Jody, retuned in November 2008 from 21/2 years of working in Thailand. Dean was the delivery executive for the country of Thailand and the project executive for one of IBM’s largest application services contracts. Dean was responsible for more than 500 employees for the large contract and another 250 for the rest of the country and four additional long-term contracts. While there, God used Dean and Judy to work with another expatriate Christian couple and plant a new English-speaking international church on the south side of Bangkok. In the early stages of the church, Dean alternated in leading the services and delivering the message. Judy was initially the praise and worship leader while playing the piano and then a key person on the worship team.

Donna (Martz) Ferrebee BA is an office manager for a nonprofit agency that serves crime victims in her county.

Yvonne (Priser) Riege BA writes, “In January 2009, I began a new position as a pastoral consultant with the Northern Indiana District of the Church of the Brethren. The previous month I’d wrapped up eight years as pastor of Goshen City Church of the Brethren, and I was excited to move into this new opportunity. During the past year I’ve also moved into a regular role as a columnist in two local newspapers and have two stories published in the book Cup of Comfort for Families Touched by Alzheimer’s Disease. It has been fun doing many book-signing events and speaking engagements where I can share about the stories that were written about my mother’s challenges with this debilitating disease.”

Bill Greiner BA accepted the position of senior pastor of Eagle Ridge Church of God, Midland, Mich., in August 2007. His wife, Robin (Jones) Greiner ’88, is currently working at Pregnancy Resource Center of Mid-Michigan as the client services director. They recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

Cinda (DeYoung) Pelfrey BA recently finished a master's degree in educational technology. She teaches music and band at Monroe Local Schools and directs the high school choral group for Middletown Performing Arts Academy. She also conducts workshops on worship planning and technology.

Karen Kerr-Osman BA works as the coordinator of volunteer services at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center in Casa Grande, Ariz., and recently became a certified administrator of volunteer services after passing the national exam for healthcare volunteer resource professionals. She is also serving as president of her state professional organization. She lives with her husband, Mike, who is a United Methodist minister and two daughters, Kaitlin and Esme, in Arizona. Colin Brown BA and Reagen (Colby) Brown BA ’99 are pleased to announce the birth of their second son, Riley Colin, on Oct. 31, 2008. Riley was welcomed by a brother, Colby, almost 4. Colin is a property claims adjuster for Travelers Insurance. Reagen stays home with the boys and also works part-time as the director of preschool ministries at The Summit Church in Kernersville, N.C.

Janelle (Current) Bernaldez BA and her husband, Guillermo, announce the birth of Ana Quetzalli on Oct. 30, 2008, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Janelle and Guillermo have been living in Argentina since 2006.

Suzanna (Rojas) Thompson BA and her husband, Ted, welcomed quadruplets Isaac Nehiel, Lucia Celeste, Jude Wesley, and Dahlia Solis on Christmas Eve 2008. Suzy writes, “The babies spent only two weeks in the NICU and are now at home, thoroughly delighting us while also severely depriving us of sleep. We are so thankful to the AU community for its support and encouragement during these exciting yet difficult months! Paul Daniels BA and Janelle (Lucas) Daniels BA ’00 welcomed their third child, Emily Elizabeth, on Aug. 18, 2008. Brothers Luke (4) and Nate (2) were excited to bring home their little sister. Paul works as a financial advisor for Raymond James, and Janelle is a busy stay-at-home mom. They live in Noblesville, Ind., and attend New Life Community Church, where Janelle helps lead the music and worship ministry.

Chara (Shumate) Lavelle BA and her husband, Philip, announce the birth of Alleyne Ruby Lavelle on March 14, 2008. She was welcomed by a brother, Addison, and a sister, Bella. She is named after her great-grandmothers and goes by the name Ruby.

Stephanie (Grider) Newsham BA announces the birth of her son, Wesley Grider Newsham, on Dec. 21, 2008. Stephanie writes, “Big brother Levi absolutely adores him. Kerri (Spencer) Combs BA and Derek Combs BA ’99 welcomed a daughter, Nora Rose, into their family on Nov. 18, 2008. Kerri writes that brothers Isaac and Keegan adore Nora and are very helpful.

Greg Nicholson BA and his wife, Cari, announce the birth of their first child, Elliot Rose, on June 6, 2008.

Ann Elizabeth Rust BA received tenure at Naperville Community School District #203 in Illinois. She will receive her master’s degree in art and art education from Columbia University's Teacher's College in New York City in May. Last year she received the Most Influential Educator Award.

Kristianne (Maxedon) Buck BA completed her master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Northern Iowa in December 2007. She met Tim through their church young adults group. Kristianne and Tim had a beautiful winter wedding at their church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Kristianne is in her sixth year as an elementary ELL teacher. Tim is self-employed in home maintenance and construction. They live in Marshall­town with their dog, Toby.

Rachel Johnson BA accepted a career appointment in December 2008 as a program analyst for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food & Nutrition Service. She works in the Office of Strategic Initiatives, Partnerships and Outreach.

Rebecca (Moses) Pozo-Olano BA and her husband, Juan, announce the birth of their first child, Maximo Cristino, who was born June 24, 2008. Rebecca writes, “Our little Max was born with several medical issues, but we are pleased to report that he is getting stronger every day. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as he continues to progress.”

Jennifer McDaniel BA has joined Tucker Publishing Group as graphic designer. At Tucker Publishing Group, Jennifer will be responsible for advertising design and working with clients to develop strong ad content for all Tucker Publishing Group publications. She will also assist with publication design and custom publishing. Tucker Publishing Group publishes the bimonthly Evansville Living and Evansville Business magazines, as well as the annual City View relocation and visitor’s guide, Flavors dining guide, Social Datebook, Healthy Living, and At Home magazines.

1960 - Roger Spencer MDiv served in the Navy as a chaplain for 31 years. His wife, Faye Germany Spencer ’55, passed away on Feb. 26, 2005, in Roswell, Ga. Roger is now married to Molly Ann Spence of Lampasas, Texas. They live at Air Force Village 2, a retirement community for military officers and their spouses in San Antonio.

2003 - Shannon (Brewer) Krenz BA ’98, MTS and Mark Krenz MDiv ’99, DMin ’03 announce the birth of their third daughter, Anika Noel.
