Remembering our friends

Sara (Rychener) Burkholder BA '99 died March 15, 2002, from complications during childbirth. Sara taught at Burr Road Middle School in Wauseon, Ohio. She and her husband, Jay, were volunteer leaders of the junior high youth group at Pettisville Missionary Church. She also had an interest in mission work and participated in short-term mission projects in South Korea, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. Sara is survived by her husband and her infant son, Jackson David. Other survivors include her parents, Chuck and Pamela Rychener; two brothers Matthew Rychener BA '93 and Joshua Rychener '94; a sister, AU student Rebekah Rychener; and her grandparents, William and Ruth Clair and Dorothy Rychener.

Shadrack Nkansah BA '93 lost his battle with cancer on May 20, 2002. Funeral services were held at the Tri County Assembly in Fairfield, Ohio. One of his last requests was to be buried in his home country, Ghana, Africa. He is survived by his wife, Amy (Coppess) Nkansah '91, and two sons, Elijah (7) and Isaiah (5). Evelyn Seeley BS '50 died April 19, 2002. She lived in Clifton Park, N.Y.
