Cecil Baldwin BTh and Geneva (Crocker) Baldwin '41 celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on July 14. They live in Stevensville, Mich., and serve on the pastor's visitation team at the First Church of God in St. Joseph, Mich., and as co-chaplains at Crown Pointe Senior Living Community in Stevensville. Before retiring in 1978, Cecil and Geneva served 43 years in pastoral ministry in Church of God congregations in Indiana, Colorado, Kentucky, and Illinois. From 1978 to 1982, Cecil served as Illinois State executive secretary/treasurer. Cecil and Geneva raised two children. They have four grandchildren and five great-granddaughters.

Charles Stanley Jr. BA retired after 30 years of teaching music at University of Texas at El Paso. This last semester he assisted Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City with their music department. He directed the choir and taught voice and theory. He also led the choir on their spring tour. He and his wife, Marilyn (Snider) Stanley BS, assist the Western Hills Methodist Church in El Paso, where Charles served as choirmaster for 25 years.

Gladys (Armstrong) Cagle was called to pastoral ministry in 1993. She went back to school, earning a bachelor's degree in pastoral ministry and Bible from Mid-America Bible College and a master of divinity degree in Christian counseling from Christian Bible College and Seminary. She began pastoring full-time in 1996 and currently serves at the First Church of God in Mannford, Okla.

Barbara (Robertson) Moffitt BS remarried. She and her husband, Bob Hoaglin, live on Marco Island, Fla., in the winter. During the summer they return to Lake City, Colo., where they own a restaurant. Barbara and her late husband, Gordon Moffitt BS '57, raised four children and have 11 grandchildren. Barbara would love to hear from her college friends. Harold Burgess BA retired in November 2002 after 31 years with the Cook County Juvenile Court in Chicago.

Phyllis Marie (Thurston) Foss BA retired in June 2002 after 33 years teaching elementary school in Santa Ana, Calif. Before moving to California in 1969, she taught in Indiana for three and a half years. She substitute teaches once a month and volunteers at her church and library. She also enjoys traveling.

Monty Coble is the administrative pastor of Beth Simcha HaMashiach in Scottsdale, Ariz., the Church of the Nazarene's first Messianic Congregation in the Arizona District. Monty also serves as registrar of the SouthWest District Training Center, an online school preparing pastoral students for ordination and lay leaders for work of the Church of the Nazarene.

Barbara West has been a flight attendant for Delta Airlines for 34 years. She currently flies international routes. Her son, Brandon, is a senior at Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Barbara is building a log home in western Massachusetts. She enjoys estate sales, tag sales, and flea markets. She hopes to one day own an antique shop.

Scott Clear BA works for the Federal Emergency Manage-ment Agency, traveling to disasters throughout the United States and U.S. territories. "My job entails dealing with complaints of discrimination by disaster victims or employees of the agency," Scott explains. "I am also a licensed Texas attorney, working part time in Dallas." His wife, Laura, is the associate pastor at St. Mark United Methodist Church in McAllen, Texas. Their daughter, Rachel, is in the first grade. Scott can be reached at scottclear@yahoo.com.

Dave Heitzenrater BA set a record during the 2002-2003 basketball season by becoming the coach with the most victories in any sport in Erie County, Pa. He set the record coaching the varsity girls' basketball team at McDowell High School. It was his 434th winning game. Dave continues to coach the team this season. He also teaches eighth grade science at J.S. Wilson Middle School. Dave and his wife, Beth (Burch) Heitzenrater BA, have two daughters and three grandchildren. Beth watches the grandchildren while her daughter and son-in-law work. "They are our pride and joy," Beth writes. "We feel so very blessed, especially since all of Mandi's pregnancies were 'crisis' pregnancies." Beth and Dave also celebrate the miracle that Dave has been cancer-free from Hodgkins Disease for 20 years - "another of life's wonderful milestones," Beth writes.

Bonnie (Lienemann) Perkins BA has served as senior pastor of Friendship Church for the past 22 years. She is also employed part-time as a chaplain at Valley Hope, a drug and alcohol treatment center. Seven years ago, Bonnie and her husband opened their home to foster children, primarily to difficult teens.

Pam (Neidert) Hoalt BA, AA was one of 56 college and university professors honored in October by the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education for teaching excellence. Pam is professor of health education at Malone College in Canton, Ohio.

Mark Jaeger and Vicki (Jennings) Jaeger live in Chesteron, Ind. They celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary in September. Vicki recently returned to college and graduated with a degree in physical therapy. Mark is a project environmental, health, and safety manager for MWH Constructors. They have two children, Molly and Sam.

Bubba Smith BA and Mary Bess, his wife of 17 years, have two children - Susanne, 14, and Will, 11. Bubba produced four songs featured in the Paramount Pictures/MTV Films movie The Fighting Temptations. The film opened Sept. 19 and starred Academy Award winter Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyoncé Knowles of Destiny's Child. He recently produced a record on pop/country superstar Glen Campbell for the country label Universal South Records, which will be released during the first quarter of this year.

Cindy (Russell) Unis BA, husband Richard, and their three daughters have returned to the United States after living in the Azore Islands for two years, where Richard was the squadron commander for a contracting office. "We lived right on the ocean and met some wonderful people there," Cindy writes. While based on the Azore Islands, they traveled through Europe three times, and their two older daughters enjoyed school trips to England. "It was a great experience, but it is good to be back in the United States." The family lives in Leesburg, Va. Debbie (Boelke) Lee BA has moved to Macae, Brazil, to teach elementary students how to speak English. She hopes it will also be an opportunity to minister to young children and their families. Tammy Burt BA received her doctorate in 2002 from The Ohio State University. She specialized in adapted physical education with cognates in research and pedagogy. David Farlow BA, an officer in the United States Army, was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and assigned as a public affairs officer with the U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Fla. David and Kimberly (Grubbs) Farlow '85 have three children, Matt, Dan and Tim. Dennis Hopton BA registered to marry Guangjie Yang on Feb. 12, 2003. The wedding ceremony was held in Hong Kong on Sept. 5, 2003. The Rev. Paul Yerden BS '59, assisted by his wife, Rita Jo (Hankins) Yerden BS '59, officiated the ceremony. Edward Cumberbatch BA of Trinidad was best man and soloist. Dennis is vice president of Manchester Industries in Hong Kong. Guangjie is an attorney for the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP in Hong Kong.

Anne (Lawrence) Howard BA, AA announces the birth of Matthew Gregory on Jan. 15, 2002. Anne is the gifted intervention specialist for Edgewood City Schools. She received her master's degree in education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in August.

David Kueker BA owns Qualified Prospecting Services Inc. (QPS) and Tube & Pipe Technologies Inc. QPS is a marketing company working with manufacturers and service and distribution companies within the power generation, industrial, and commercial industries. The company helps inside marketing and sales groups develop new business opportunities. Tube and Pipe Technologies is a manufacturing representative agency related to tube and pipe fabrication equipment and services.

Yvonne R. (Priser) Riege BA is the lead pastor at Goshen City Church of the Brethren in Goshen, Ind. Mark Riege BA '83 is the pastor at Camp Creek Church of the Brethren in Etna Green. They have two sons, ages 11 and 13, and live near Wakarusa. Yvonne continues to present solo vibraphone programs, and Mark enjoys leading caving adventures in Kentucky with his congregation. "Life is busy but exciting each day as we serve God in many exciting ways," writes Yvonne. Occasionally their two churches come together for a combined event. Carol Knarr BA married Ron Athey May 18, 2003, in Sedona, Ariz. Carol writes, "I became a wife, stepmother to three, and a grandma!" She is a teacher with Kyrene Aprende Middle School and a theatre instructor for the Mesa Arts Center. She also works as a professional storyteller. Ron and Carol live in Chandler, Ariz., with 14-year-old Angela and a pack of dogs.

Larry Costello BA was promoted to director of public relations and communications at Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Hoffman Estates, Ill. He and his team are responsible for all home and off-mall businesses, including appliances, the Kenmore and Craftsman brands, consumer electronics, product repair service, and Sears Hardware stores.

Jenny (Beaudry) Fultz moved to Boise, Idaho, where her husband, Steve, accepted the position of executive director of the Caldwell Economic Development Council. Jenny is a freelance graphic designer. Karla (Still) Braschler AA and Rick Braschler '87 live in Springfield, Mo., with their four children. Karla works from home as an independent sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, while helping Rick pastor a church and working with the children and youth ministries.

Christy Howe BA, MEd '03 married Ron Chitwood June 14, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Anderson, Ind. Christi Brown Maidlow BA '87 was matron of honor. Christy teaches middle school science in Marion Community Schools and has served as co-coordinator for children's ministries at the First United Methodist Church for more than 15 years. Robin (Loudermilk) Butler BA and Grant Roger Butler BA '91, MDiv '99 traveled to China last summer to adopt a beautiful little girl, Bonnie Rose Ann. "Unfortunately my mom was in the end stages of cancer when we left, but we were all blessed that she was able to spend six precious weeks with her first grandchild," Robin writes. The family lives in Michigan.

Michael Jenkins BA and Sheri (Yerkes) Jenkins announce the birth of Abigail Lauren on July 24, 2003. The family lives in Hilliard, Ohio.

Joy (Steenbarger) Walls BA and her husband, Randy, welcomed a daughter, Abigail Rylee, on Jan. 19, 2003. "Words cannot express our happiness and joy with this new addition to our family," Joy writes. Abigail was adopted in Indiana from Sioux City, Iowa.

Ryan Elijah BA and Tasha (Fulda) Elijah live in Jacksonville, Fla. They have two sons - Jacob Ryan, 4, and Luke Andrew, 1. Ryan is the main sports director and anchor for CBS 47 and Fox 30. He is a sideline reporter for the Jacksonville Jaguars and hosts various shows for the team throughout the week, including a live coaches show, the Jack Del Rio show, and a live pre-game show. Steve Fehlinger BA and his wife, Lori, write that their daughter, Virginia Paige, was stillborn on March 6, 2002. Their son, Keegan Mitchell, was stillborn on March 16, 2003. They have begun the process of pursing adoption. "We have been praying about this decision and would appreciate additional prayers," says Steve.

Heather (Ruby) Powell BA and her husband, Matt, adopted a little girl from Murmansk, Russia, on March 17, 2003. Her name is Natalie Clara Powell. She was born in Murmansk on March 4, 2002. Heather writes, "She is a joy and we feel so blessed to have her as part of our family. We traveled to Russia to adopt her and bring her home. We were in Russia for 12 days. It was an adventure of a lifetime. I am now a stay-at-home mom and am enjoying it tremendously!"

Danielle (de Boer) Myers BA and her husband, Jeff, announce the birth of their fourth child, Stuart Roy, on May 16, 2003. He was welcomed home by brother Graham and sisters Emma and Cathryn "who love him and give him lots of attention," Danielle writes. "He is a BIG healthy boy! At his 2 month check-up he weighed 18 lbs.!"

Tara Treat BA married Steve Lenger Dec. 14, 2002. Alumnae in the wedding included Tammy (Flowers) Lenox '93 and Christa (Rogers) Wells BA '95. Tara and Steve live in Franklin, Tenn. Tara is a full-time piano instructor and a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and the Music Teachers National Association. Steve teaches sixth-grade math at a private school in Nashville and is an assistant coach for the high school football and baseball teams.

Marcus York BA recently filmed Covert Action for the Discovery Channel. He played CIA operative Mack Harris. He received a Certificate of Excellence for the television series Fortune, Mass., which he wrote. The series is being considered by ABC. Marcus was also a semi-finalist in the 2003 Scriptapalooza for his NYPD Blues script, "Vengeance Is Mine." Marcus lives in California.

Matt Anderson BA and Robin (Vader) Anderson BA '99 moved to Oklahoma City in January 2003. Matt is the pastor of athletics, recreation and wellness ministries at Crossings Community Church. Robin stays home with their son, Connor, who will be 3 in April. She also volunteers in many different ministry areas at the church. Jennifer (Boschen) Sanson BA and her husband, Kevin, bought their first home in Lafayette, Ind., after Kevin took a new job. Their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth, was born Oct. 20, 2002. Rena Leinberger BA had a one-artist exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago in June. It was part of the series "12x12: New Artists, New Work." Her outdoor installation as part of the collaborative team Lint (with Ben Butler) will be on view at the Evanston Art Center, Evanston, Ill., through June.

Kyle Minor BA and his wife, Debbie, announce the birth of Ian Kyle on June 26, 2003, in Lake Wales, Fla. Kyle is a writer and adjunct instructor of English at Webber College. Debbie is an assistant professor of English at Warner Southern College. The short film, Stranger Things, written and directed by Luke Renner BA and produced by Kyle, was chosen as one of the best five films at the Flickerings Film Festival in Bushnell, Ill. Stranger Things stars AU alumni Jeff Whye BA '01 and Donqueline (Fulp) Galliher '01. Several AU students and alumni assisted in the production as grips and production assistants.

Jennifer (Vorhis) Stone BA and her husband, Jerret, announce the birth of Logan Magnus on Jan. 30, 2003. Their son Gabriel is 2. Jennifer teaches at Kettering Middle School. She is the school's gifted and talented teacher/coordinator, and she coaches the seventh and eighth grade cheerleading squads. Jerret is a stay-at-home dad and is working on his education degree. She is also working on a master's degree in school psychology at Ball State University. Jason is an assistant supervisor at Madison County Youth Center in Anderson, Ind.

Chad Hoffman BA is a mortgage loan officer with Signature Mortgage Group in Urbandale, Iowa. He lives in Des Moines.

Janelle (Bates) Kincheloe BA and her husband, Karl, announce the birth of identical twins Evan Karl and Aedan Karl. Evan was born on Aug. 13, 2003, while Aedan was born on Aug. 14, 2003. They have a brother, Clayton, 2. The family lives in Idaho.

Jay S. Noble BA received his master of fine arts degree in painting from American University in May. He teaches drawing and design at Hollins University in Roanoke, Va. Jay is the son of Myron BA '68 and Zola (Troutman) Noble BA '68. Jay and his wife, Heidi Leitzke BA '02, live in Roanoke.

Laura Perry BA spent a year serving as a member of the Intermenno Work Trainee Program through the Mennonite Church. She was an au-pair in Koblenz, Germany, and worked on the staff of a Baptist conference center in Hannover, Germany. While traveling in Europe, she visited AU alumnae Dora (Good) Schmidt BA '00 and Donti Edwards BA in Germany and Sara Cook BA in Northern Ireland. She returned to the United States in August and is teaching German and history at Western Boone Jr.-Sr. High School in Lebanon, Ind. She lives in Indianapolis.

Leah Vincent BA received a master's degree in history from Penn State University in May. She is working on a doctorate in history at the University of Alabama and studying under former AU professor Dr. George Rable.

Carla Warthan BA married Darrin Miller on Aug. 16, 2003, in Frankfort, Ind. Alumnae participating in the wedding included Jill Warthan BA '01, Laura Warthan BA '03, Dontie Edwards BA, Kristen Edwards BA '98, Ann (Stroeh) Gustitus BA '98, and Kara Carlisle BA. Carla and Darrin live in Indianapolis. Carla is an employment services representative for Crossroads Rehabilitation Center. Darrin is an engineer for the Department of Natural Resources.

James Green BA and Chrystal (Hendrick) Green '02 are enrolled at Warner Pacific College in Oregon. James is working on a master's degree in religion with an emphasis on Bible and pastoral ministry, and Chrystal is completing a bachelor's degree in Christian ministry with a minor in youth ministry. "The big move out here was an adjustment," James writes. "Our motor home broke down four times. The Lord led us to some very nice people to work on it."

Stephen Branstutter BA married Ashley Cornelius on July 19, 2003. Alumni in the wedding included Chris Martin BA, Steve Miller BA, and Matt Nissen BA. Steve is the music minister at Bethel Tabernacle Church of God and a financial representative for American General Financial Services. Ashley works at Medical Surgical. They live in Kokomo, Ind.

Joseph Bronkella BA lives in Okeechobee, Fla., where he teaches elementary physical education in the Okeechobee County School District.

Dana (McCallian) Byers BA and Chris Byers BA '00 announce the birth of Blake Christopher on June 16, 2003.

Ben Risinger BA is the sports information director at Bluffton College in Ohio. "It is a very good fit for myself, having always been around the small college atmosphere at Anderson," Ben writes. "I work very long hours, but I love being back in the sports environment."

Collin Taylor BA and Audrey (Gerth) Taylor BA announce the birth of Ada Grace on Aug. 29, 2003. The family lives in Covington, Ky.

Kevin Todd BA and Liz (Alukas) Todd BA '00 moved to Noblesville, Ind., in September. Kevin received his master's degree in urban planning from Ball State University in July. He is the assistant planner for the town of Westfield. Liz works with families and children through the Center for Mental Health in Anderson.

Matthew Cherry BA teaches algebra at Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Ind., and is an assistant baseball coach at AU. He lives in Anderson.

Rachel Johnson BA moved to Arlington, Va., in August. "I enjoy having the capitol city just across the river," she writes. She works for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities as a communication project assistant.

Dan Frost BS '59, MRE '69 retired in February 2000. Last June he and his wife, Joan, traveled 5,200 miles from Atlanta to Montana and back on a Honda Goldwing motorcycle. They visited all of the national parks and other sites along the way.

Bob Brooke MDiv '80, a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve, completed five months of active duty at Fort Polk, La., in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as an Army Reserve chaplain. Upon his release from active duty in September, he was transferred into the Retired Reserve, having completed 28 years of commissioned service.

After 21 years of ministry at Tarumi Church of God, Kobe, Japan, and as Church of God missionaries in the Kansai central district of the country, Bernie Barton BA '76, MDiv '82 and Cheryl Johnson Barton BA '76 have moved to Tokyo. Bernie is the principal of Tamagawa Seigakuin, a Church of God girls' junior and senior high school with 1,050 students. Cheryl has begun master of divinity studies at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Rob Meckley BA '81, MDiv '84 writes that his oldest son, Eric, is a freshman football player at the University of Chicago.

James Daniel BA '73, MA '88 was ratified as the state minister for the Church of God in Mississippi. He assumed the position after being in full-time ministry since 1977.

Joy (May) Sherman BA '97, MTS '03 and her husband, Steve, accepted ministry positions at Maiden Lane Church of God in Springfield, Ohio. Joy serves as pastor of discipleship and assimilation, and Steve serves as pastor of young adults.
