2007 Indiana Teacher of the Year, Hamilton Southeastern School DistrictBachelor of Arts, elementary education major
Anderson University turned my childhood aspiration of becoming a teacher into a crisp reality. Through the hard work of dedicated professors who became my role models, I was equipped with the current research and effective classroom strategies that have ensured my success in the educational world. The School of Education has a strong partnership with the Anderson community, which allowed me to witness exceptional elementary teachers firsthand and to bridge the gap between textbook learning and hands-on experience. It sparked a passion inside me that has stayed strong through my 10 years of teaching. I am so proud to hang my AU diploma in my classroom, and I gladly credit my success to this spiritually invigorating, academically challenging, and life-changing campus.
