English as a New Language Program
The Anderson University English as a New Language Program focuses on two primary objectives
  1. ENL Licensure for Indiana Teachers
  2. Professional Development for teachers in schools

English as a New Language (ENL)

Why choose AU's ENL program?

  • Classes are offered at convenient times.
  • The program was designed based on the standards required by the State of Indiana.
  • The program is intentionally designed to fast-track students desiring an ENL license.
  • Experience hybrid classes, with face-to-face and online work.

The English as a New Language Professional Development Academy will focus on two primary objectives:

1. ENL Licensure for Indiana teachers

  • Courses offered at Masters Level – can be used towards M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at AU.
  • Courses offered at Undergraduate Level for teacher candidates wishing to add ENL certification.
  • Certification opportunity for licensed Indiana teachers who wish to add ENL.

2. Professional Development for teachers in schools.

  • Professional Development for those working with English language learners (content/classroom teachers, ENL teachers, paraprofessionals, volunteers, service organizations).

The English as a New Language Professional Development Academy has been established with a National Professional Development Grant through the United States Department of Education, administered by the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA).
