To this end, we are committed to being a community of scholars who are church-related, and in whose character and servanthood the following are vitally linked: biblical faith, academic integrity, Christian spirituality, love for persons; and a responsible relation with the created order and all humankind.

General Information on Financial Aid

The School of Theology's financial aid program is administered by the Financial Aid and Awards Committee for both Church of God and non-Church of God students. Sources for student aid (listed below) include scholarships, grants, and loans.

It is important to note that while most students will receive some financial aid, many seminary students meet a portion of their educational and living expenses through part-time employment in a church or other work secured within the local community.

All applications for government loans and/ or loan deferments are processed by the Anderson University Office of Student Financial Services, located in Decker Hall. Applications for financial aid may be obtained through the School of Theology's Office of Student Services. A complete listing of policies may also be obtained from this office.

International Students should refer to Admissions Requirements for Students Educated Outside of the United States for additional information.

Applications for financial aid may be secured from the Office of Student Financial Services. Financial aid will not be awarded to students with "incompletes" remaining on their records four months after the final day of an academic term.

Sources for Student Aid:

Financial aid is awarded to both Church of God and non-Church of God students based on financial need and available funds. Financial aid forms must be completed in order to be eligible for awards. The following categories are the sources for seminary student aid.

Annual Awards:

There are several endowed awards that are given to eligible students by nomination and vote of the seminary faculty. These awards are normally given at the end of an academic year.

Boyce W. Blackwelder Seminary Tuition Fund

In June 1974, the General Assembly of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana), on recommendation of its Special Advisory Committee on Anderson School of Theology, adopted a resolution directing the church's Division of World Service to raise funding from the church annually to assist Church of God ministerial students with the cost of their graduate training at the church's seminary. The fund honors the late Dr. Blackwelder, a member of the seminary faculty and long-time Church of God preacher and author.

All disbursements assume that students receiving funds will meet the qualifications intended by the church. Such qualifications will be verified in a formal annual application process. Returning students must apply by May 1 for assistance during the following school year. New and transfer students must apply by July 1.
