AU School of Theology Alumni Awards Criteria
The School of Theology annually presents awards to alumni for their ministry and service both to the school and in the world. It is an honor to recognize these individuals for Kingdom service.
The criteria for the awards are listed below. All nominations must be submitted to the Office of the Seminary Dean no later than April 1 annually. The nominations are then considered and recommended to the Anderson University Alumni Council and the University President. Selected recipients will be notified of the award with the awards being presented at an appropriate AU SOT event.
All nominations must contain: 1) the person’s name; 2) the award category; 3) a detailed biography of this individual’s ministry and service related to that category; and, 4) supporting reasons this individual should be considered. All nominations must have contact information from the person submitting.
AU School of Theology Distinguished Alumni Award
The following criteria are be to used is selecting the Distinguished Alumni Award recipient:
A. An alumnus of the School of Theology.
B. One who has performed outstanding service to society either in his or her professional and/or personal achievement, community or church.
C. An alumnus who has manifested interest in the School of Theology and has shown support in any of the following ways:
- Contributions of time, money, talents
- Recruitment of students
- Placement of graduates
AU School of Theology Distinguished Service Award
The following criteria are to be used in selecting the Distinguished Service Award recipient:
A. One who has performed outstanding service to the institution and/or who has served the institution in an official capacity and brought recognition to it.
B. One who is well thought of in church and community, and who upholds the ideals of the Anderson School of Theology.
C. The award may be given for recent distinguished service or services rendered over a period of time.
AU School of Theology Distinguished Ministries Award
The following criteria are to be used in selecting the Distinguished Ministries award recipient:
A. One who has performed outstanding service to the church on the local, state or international level.
B. One who has invested time, energy, and service for the betterment of the School Theology.
C. One who has contributed significantly to the cause of Christian higher education as represented by and through the Anderson School of Theology.
AU School of Theology Distinguished Young Alumni Award
The following criteria are to be used in selecting the Distinguished Young Alumni Award
A. An Alumnus of Anderson University School of Theology having completed a minimum of 24 semester hours, who has attended AU within the past 10 years.
B. One who since attending Anderson University School of Theology has distinguished him/herself through professional and or personal achievement.
- Exemplify Christian principles
- Outstanding peer leader in their profession and community
- Demonstrates promise of further distinction
- One whose contribution reflections well on the University and School of Theology
- One whose life is a challenge and an inspiration to others in the University and School of Theology community
C. One who has demonstrated continued interest and or contact with Anderson University School of Theology
