James W. Lewis
James Lewis, professor of theology and ethics, began his career in the business world as an accountant in Houston, Texas. Lewis answered the call to ministry and pursued his M.Div. at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary and eventually his Ph.D. at Duke. During his studies at Duke, Lewis served as pastor of the Boyer St. Church of God in Raleigh, N.C. At the time of Lewis’ move to Anderson University, he served in a dual teaching role with both the undergraduate Religious Studies Department and the graduate School of Theology. Lewis’ teaching eventually focused solely on the SOT where he would also be named associate dean. Lewis also serves the seminary as the director of the Doctor of Ministry Studies Program. He is a sought-after preacher and has written for a variety of publications.
Lewis joined the School of Theology faculty in 1992.
