The mission of the Anderson University School of Theology is to educate at the graduate professional level both men and women for Christian ministry. To this end, we are committed to being a community of scholars who are church-related, and in whose character and servanthood the following are vitally linked: biblical faith, academic integrity, Christian spirituality, love for persons; and a responsible relation with the created order and all humankind.

Courtney Series in Christian Education

06-26-2008

The first research project in the Donald Addison Courtney Series in Christian Education has been completed.

Under the supervision of the professor of Christian education, senior M.Div. student David Aukerman wrote the first monograph and presented it in a conference on June 24, during the North American Convention of the Church of God.

The series is being developed for the primary purpose of providing the wider Christian community with sustained and original scholarly research focused on Christian education.

The first project is to conduct original research into the history of Christian education in the Church of God (Anderson). This is a rich and diverse history, and several monographs will need to be written. The first monograph addresses only the history of the Sunday school in the Church of God.
