Anderson University juniors Sara Peard and Michael Douglass recently received the 2008 Nicholson Student Servant Leadership Award for services on campus and in the community. The awards were made possible by a grant from the Moore Foundation and Barney II Foundation as well as matching funds directed to the university by Anderson University donors.

Reggie Dabbs will be the featured campus guest speaker for Impact Your World Week, Feb. 5-8, at Anderson University. The AU Campus Ministries office sponsors Impact Your World Week to offer students and the community an opportunity for worship and study with an off-campus speaker.
Impact Your World Week is conducted early in Semester II and focuses on Christ’s call to us to serve in the world. Key leaders from around the world are invited to campus each year to lead this special week.
Anderson University’s Professional Development Services will offer “AIB Principles of Banking,” a 10 week course of the American Institute of Banking, on Monday evenings beginning March 3 and ending May 5. This non-credit class will meet from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Anderson University Flagship Center, conveniently located at Exit 22 on I-69.
Facilitator Tony Hueston, Assistant Vice President and Business Banking Risk Manager at Star Financial Bank, will lead the class in learning about the fundamentals of banking, from negotiable instruments to contemporary issues and developments within the industry. This course will address changes in the areas of servicing clients, emerging technology, and expanded banking powers and markets.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the fall honorees for Academic All-HCAC and Anderson University has 29 student/athletes on the list.
The Anderson University women’s basketball team defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Defiance College 84-64 on Saturday at the Weaner Center in Defiance, Ohio.
The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Manchester College 60-47 on Wednesday night in North Manchester.
Anderson University will serve as a host site for College Goal Sunday, Sun., Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium. College Goal Sunday is a statewide charitable program that provides free information and assistance to Indiana families applying for college financial aid. College Goal Sunday will take place at 36 sites throughout the state of Indiana. FAFSA forms, required by educational institutions nationwide, must be received by the federal processor by March 10, 2008 for Indiana residents. College Goal Sunday mobilizes financial aid professionals, primarily from Indiana colleges and universities, to help families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA). This form is required for any student seeking federal grants and loans at virtually any school in the country.
