Men’s golf team finishes 5th at HCAC Championships

Wooley_web.jpgThe Anderson University golf team finished in fifth place in the four-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at the Anderson Country Club.

The first two rounds were played last weekend in Lexington, Ky., with the final two rounds on Friday and Saturday at the Anderson Country Club.

AU was led by Justin Lane’s 75 and Lance Ramsey’s 76 on Saturday. Nathan Criswell finished with a 78 followed by Nick Wooley (80) and Matt Marsalka (81).

For the tournament, Criswell led the Ravens with a four-day total of 324. (82-85-79-78).

Other AU players include Wooley (83-84-83-80 330), Ramsey (98-85-73 256), Marsalka (97-92-81-81 351). Caleb Cunningham (94-89 183) played the first two rounds and Lane (82-75 157) the final two rounds.

Transylvania won the tournament with a four-day total of 313-324-288-289 1,211. Franklin is second (310-317-313-303 1,243), Manchester third (336-342-317-303 1,298), Rose-Hulman fourth (341-344-309-314 1,308), Anderson fifth (356-343-315-309 1,323), Hanover sixth (341-354-325-316 1,336), Mt. St. Joseph seventh (358-359-336-335 1,388) and Defiance eighth (375-365-332-338 1,410).
