Raven men win ninth consecutive HCAC championship

The Anderson University men’s cross country team won its ninth straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday at Hanover College.
The Ravens defeated runner-up Franklin by a score of 30-44 by finishing with four of the top seven runners.
Sean Hudson won the individual race in a time of 26:08 easily defeating the runner-up from Rose-Hulman by 33 seconds.
Also finishing in the top 12 and thus being named All-Conference were Troy Pryor (5th, 26:56), Matt Helm (6th, 26:59), Dan DeYoung (7th, 27:00) and Matt Ingalls (11th, 27:18).
“I thought we competed well and were ready for the challenge,” said AU coach Scott Wilson, who was named HCAC Coach of the Year. “I was proud of the way our men ran and conducted themselves. Our senors showed their experience and came through for us.”
Other AU finishers in the race were Zach Scott (24th, 28:30), Kyle Schmidt (25th, 28:33), Tanner Johnson (30th, 28:51), Frankie Dixon (36th, 29:05), Tony Pryor (37th, 29:08), Jon Lugar (42nd, 29:35) and Dan Malloy (65th, 31:02).
