November 12th, 2007
Anderson University quarterback Chase Thurston and kicker Tristan Cork were named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
Thurston completed 29 of his 46 passes for a career-high 312 yards in the season finale. Thurston connected with Matt Thompson for a 34-yard game winning touchdown pass with 34 seconds remaining in the contest to deliver AU the Bronze Ball trophy.
Cork booted a pair of field goals in the contest from 37 and 45 yards. The latter was a career-long for the sophomore and one yard short of Jason Gilman’s school record, set in 1988.
Anderson finished the season 4-6 overall and placed fifth in the HCAC with a 3-4 conference record.
