Bluffton ends softball season with sweep

The Anderson University softball team saw its hopes of making the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference slip away on Saturday as they lost both ends of a doubleheader at Bluffton University 3-1 and 2-1.In the first game, Kelly Thompson had a hit and an RBI as the Ravens were held to three hits. Thompson also took the loss on the mound, allowing eight hits and three runs while walking one and striking out five.
In the second game, Thompson and Erin Garrity each had three hits to lead the offense with Garrity knocking in the only run.
Gretchen Louzon allowed five hits and one run over the first three innings and Jessica Alsman allowed four hits and one run while walking four and striking out four over the final three innings.
Bluffton scored the game-winning runs on a home run in the sixth inning of the first game and a bases loaded walk in the fourth inning of the second game.
AU finishes the season 16-22 overall and 9-7 in the HCAC.
