Jackets hand AU women 1st HCAC soccer loss

The Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Defiance College 2-1 on Saturday in Defiance, Ohio.
Mary Deitrich scored the Ravens goal in the game with an assist from Abbey Witt in the 77th minute. Deitrich led the Ravens with two shots in the game.
Carlie Clark led the Ravens with five intercepts and Deitrich had a team-high four steals and two shots.
Defiance had a 19-4 advantage in shots and also had a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer had 10 saves in goal for the Ravens.
AU (4-7, 1-1 HCAC) travels to Robert Morris on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
