Kemple sets school record in 10,000 at North Central
May 13th, 2008
Anderson University senior Gwen Kemple set a new school record in the 10,000 meters last Friday at North Central, Ill.
Kemple’s time of 35:57 was 22 seconds faster than the previous record, held by Monica Hostetler. Her previous best time was 36:36 earlier in the year and her current mark is one of the top eight times in the country and automatically qualifies her for the national meet.
The 1,600 relay team of Mark Price, Nic Huffman, Tony Pryor and Garrett Zick ran a season-best time of 3:18 at North Central, which is just two seconds off a national provisional qualifying time.
Other competitors for the Ravens were Kyle Carey in the 1,500 (4:01) and Jenny Loerop in the 3,000 steeplechase (12:20).
