Raven women finish behind Rose at Hoosier Buckeye meet

wtrack1.jpgThe Anderson University women’s track and field team finished second in the eight-team Hoosier-Buckeye Indoor Invitational on Saturday in Terre Haute.

Laura Lash and Rena St. Claire each posted victories for the Ravens in the meet. Lash won the mile in 5:20.70 while St. Clair finished first in the 400 in 1:03.61. The AU 800 meter reley team also won in a time of 1:51.46.

Amanda Nagy snagged a pair of second place finishes in the 55 meters (7.52) and 200 meters (26.62). Other runner-up performances were by Carmen Moss in the shot put (37-1 1/4) and the distance medley relay team (13:17.88).

Other top five finishes were Michelle Roth in the long jump (3rd) and 55 hurdles (5th), Tonia Cooper in the 200 meters (3rd) and 55 meters (5th), Jordan Tipton in the pole vault (5th), Julia Connor in the high jump (4th) and the 1,600 relay team (4th).

AU hosts The Runners Forum on Saturday at the Kardatzke Wellness Center. The meet will be carried live on the internet broadcast at 3 p.m.
